Those ants you see in your yard are helping to keep your plants healthy. They dig tunnels that aerate the soil and allow moisture to get to the roots. They bring leaves and dead insects into their underground nests which then decay and fertilize the surrounding plants. Some are predators and feed on insects that harm your lawn and garden. Ants are also a source of food for many other animals, including Flickers. Avoid pesticides and leaf blowers. |
